Michigan and Penn State square off this weekend in a Top 5 showdown, a meeting that arrives with no shortage of context. Both programs last saw Michigan State, though in different ways: Penn State was idle a week ago, while Michigan closed out a series against the Spartans.

The weekend slate extends well beyond Ann Arbor. Hockey East features a compelling matchup between Boston College and Merrimack, the CCHA offers Bowling Green against Augustana, and the NCHC sees Miami visit North Dakota in another test of conference positioning.
