No. 1 Michigan and No. 2 Michigan State square off twice this weekend, beginning tonight in Ann Arbor before shifting to Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Saturday.

It’s one of four matchups we’ve tagged as Games of the Week, alongside North Dakota vs. Minnesota Duluth, Augustana vs. Michigan Tech, and Wisconsin vs. Notre Dame.

Also in today’s issue (#638):

  • The Michigan Daily details the new contract for Brandon Naurato at Michigan, which includes a substantial raise and an enhanced bonus structure.

  • Penn State’s athletic department may be the most indebted in the country, but there’s legitimate context behind the headline number.

  • A TSN legal analyst provides insight into the legal proceedings involving Gavin McKenna.

  • Plus, a collection of notes from College Hockey Inc.

In case you missed it …

I was a guest on The Sheet with Jeff Marek and Greg Wyshynski yesterday. You can watch the full episode here (our segment talking about Gavin McKenna and other NCAA topics begins at the 28:00 mark).
