Update: Eigner back with Bowling Green
Bowling Green is expected to make an announcement later today regarding the findings of its hazing investigation into the hockey program, multiple sources have confirmed to College Hockey Insider.
BGSU head coach Ty Eigner has been reinstated from administrative leave and is back with the team. Eigner was on the ice for practice this morning, and it’s expected he will be behind the bench this weekend when BGSU plays a home-and-home series with Western Michigan. Curtis Carr had been serving as the interim head coach while Eigner was on leave.
We have confirmed that the Bowling Green Police Department closed its criminal investigation relatively quickly, and no criminal findings were discovered. BGSU conducted its own investigation and will likely announce that they have discovered certain “code of conduct” violations.
I’ll have more on this story later today, assuming BGSU releases its statement. Regardless, premium subscribers should be on the lookout for our next mailbag podcast recorded tonight) and the conclusion of my rankings with the “should be locks for the NCAA Tournament” teams. Both of those are coming later today.
