Stonehill finalizing a deal with David Berard to become next hockey coach
Stonehill has finalized a deal with David Berard to become the program’s next head coach, sources tell College Hockey Insider. An announcement is expected on Tuesday.
Berard, 53, was Holy Cross's head coach from 2014-21. He left the program and moved to Providence to become the Assistant Vice President/Associate Deputy AD Coaching Excellence. He also spent one season as the interim head coach at UConn (2012-13).
Overall, he has a head coaching record of 96-122-36.
Before Holy Cross and UConn, Berard was an assistant coach at Providence from 1998-2011 (and 1994-96). He was also an assistant coach at Lake Superior State (1996-98).
I’ll have more on Berard’s hiring in our next newsletter.
