Maryville University exploring Division I hockey (#569)

Maryville University (Mo.) will expand its facilities at the Maryville University Hockey Center. The facility, which is in partnership with the Chesterfield Hockey Association, is being upgraded in hopes of the university adding Division I hockey in the next 2-3 years.

NCAA players will participate in the Spengler Cup from Dec. 26-31. The U.S. Collegiate Selects will represent all six conferences and indepdents.

NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly said last week that there could be changes to the NHL/CHL agreement in light of the NCAA’s change on CHL players’ eligibility.
