Good morning.
It was a wild Friday night around college hockey, with several overtime games, Dave Hakstol’s debut at Arizona State, a Frozen Four rematch between Michigan and Denver and more.
This issue has every score, with notes from every game. Plus, I’ve got Saturday’s TV viewing guide and some Saturday picks after we went 3-1 on Friday.
Friday Recap: Dave Hakstol wins his ASU debut

Arizona State 5, UMass Lowell 4
Dave Hakstol won his ASU debut. The Sun Devils jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period, but Lowell kept clawing back and made it 3-2 before intermission. The Sun Devils kept pushing and found a way to win on the road.
“Walking into the room with this group of guys yesterday really solidified in my mind how great of an opportunity this is,” Hakstol said.
Michigan 4, Denver 1
The Wolverines took the opener of the weekend’s marquee series. Malcolm Spence scored twice, including an empty-netter. Michigan controlled the first period, and the Pioneers pushed back in the second, outshooting the Wolverines 11-1. The only problem for Denver: Michigan’s lone shot of the period was a Spence goal. Tyler Krivtsov got the start in goal for Denver.
