The first night of the 2026-27 college hockey season is in the books.

Our recap has scores and notes from every regular-season game played Friday night.

Highlights include Maryville earning its first Division I win, Quinnipiac and Michigan rolling to victories, and Niagara beating RIT in the only conference game of the night, with a familiar face providing the offense.

Colorado College 2, UMass 0: Jacksun Unger made 32 saves to post the shutout. Mats Lindgren scored the game-winning goal in the first period, and Drew Montgomery added a late empty-netter.

Maryville 3, St. Lawrence 2: Antoine Dorion scored twice to lead Maryville to a comeback win over St. Lawrence in its first Division I game. Dorion also assisted on Gustavs Ozolins’ insurance goal late in the third period.

Quinnipiac 10, New Hampshire 2: The Bobcats scored early and often in their season opener. Chris Pelosi and Ethan Wyttenbach each scored twice, while Christian Kirsch got the start in goal and made 21 saves.
