Seemed worth mentioning that if I’m reading the Box Score correctly, Denver blocked 31 shots. DU was all in for the win! They never stopped fighting, or believing.
Fortunately hockey games aren’t decided by shots on goal or scoring chances. No excuses but Denver was obviously fatigued from the double OT on Thursday night. Johnny kept us in the game and it only takes one shot to tie and one shot to win.
Similar formula as DU’s win over Mike Hastings Minnesota State in 2022. And similar to DU’s win in 2024, where we beat Massachusetts 2-1, Cornell 2-1, BU 2-1 and BC 2-0.
