It’s been a long week here at College Hockey Insider headquarters. First, your intrepid leader tore his meniscus while putting his dog in the car. I suppose I’ve reached that stage of life where even the most routine, day-to-day tasks carry a certain occupational hazard.

We have an 85-pound puppy — a chocolate lab — and as I laid out a blanket in the back seat and called her over, she listened (like a very good girl) and promptly bulldozed all 85 pounds of herself into the side of my knee.

Unfortunately, this isn’t unfamiliar territory. My left knee has already been operated on three times. We’ll see where this goes. But that started my week!

As if that weren’t enough, a few days later I was rear-ended while driving, leaving my car towed and adding another item to an already crowded to-do list.

As a result, much of the week has been spent at the doctor’s office, and sorting through car insurance paperwork and rental arrangements.

But hockey, as it always does, plays on.

Here’s a recap of Friday night’s action.
