Breaking: Bowling Green fires Ty Eigner
Bowling Green fired Ty Eigner on Monday morning, according to sources. Assistant coach Curtis Carr is in charge of the program on an interim basis.
Eigner just completed his fifth season as head coach and had a record of 84-84-11.
Eigner, 55, was a Bowling Green alum and former captain. He was at Bowling Green for 14 seasons overall. He was an assistant coach under Chris Bergeron for nine seasons before he was promoted to head coach when Bergeron took the job at Miami.
Eigner was set to enter the last year of his contract in 2024-25.
Carr was in charge of the program on an interim basis earlier this season when Eigner was put on leave during a hazing investigation sparked by allegations made by former Bowling Green forward Austen Swankler. Eigner was reinstated after four games, and no charges were filed during the hazing investigation. Some Bowling Green players were suspended for violating campus policies.
