Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota has announced that it will break ground on a new arena in two weeks (Oct. 5) at which point they will also formally announce the launch of a Division I hockey program.
The program will likely begin to play in 2023.
The groundbreaking event will be open to the public at 4:30 p.m. local time. Augustana had previously announced this summer that they had received a gift from T. Denny Sanford to help fund a new program.
I’ll have more on Augustana’s announcement in a newsletter later today for paid subscribers. To subscribe to College Hockey Insider, please use the button below.
