The NCAA Ice Hockey Rules Committee will meet next month in Indianapolis to finalize rule changes for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons.
On Thursday at the American Hockey Coaches Association convention in Naples, Fla., members of the committee met with NCAA coaches to discuss (and get feedback) on potential changes.
Topics included:
Video review
Overtime
Changes to home/road weighting in the Pairwise
Faceoff violations
Major penalties
Mandatory neck protection
Continuous play
Portal deadlines
There was also talk, unofficially amongst the coaches, of a scholarship model that mirrors the contract model in professional sports.
Plus, more on CHL players, a notebook on North Dakota, Joe Dumais, and the CCHA, and a mailbag with topics on the portal and Bowling Green.
