The top story in today’s issue (#258) is Northeastern winning its fourth Beanpot championship in five seasons. But, the game had to be decided in a shootout. Should tournaments — especially historical ones like the Beanpot — be able to play continuous overtime?

Also in this issue …

  • Speaking of Northeastern, we have an inside look at their Pairwise situation. The Huskies are in an interesting spot because they’ve climbed more than any team has climbed, but they also have a few things holding them back in the Pairwise.

  • We have projected standings for EVERY league race. Spoiler: Most of the teams currently in first place are projected to win their league titles. Using KRACH ratings as a predictor, it looks like the favorites to win regular-season championships include Minnesota (B10), Minnesota State (CCHA - the only currently flip), Denver (NCHC), Boston University (HEA), Quinnipiac (ECAC), and RIT (Atlantic Hockey). Some of those teams have sizeable leads. But, we project a final standings order for every league in this issue.

  • Finally, the latest commitments with notes on each player. New players headed to Long Island, Army, Denver, RPI, Harvard, Robert Morris, and Lake Superior State.
