Weekend Preview: The ECAC has some massive non-conference series this weekend (#486)
Plus: A weekend preview with three games I'm watching closely and I have some Friday night picks
Some massive non-conference games are set for this weekend, including Michigan at Boston University, North Dakota at Cornell, and Boston College traveling to St. Cloud State.
I’ll preview those three games and make some Friday picks. I have picks for Minnesota State vs. Bemidji State, North Dakota vs. Cornell, and BU vs. Michigan.
I’m not previewing all of these games individually, but the ECAC has some extremely important series this weekend with potential Pairwise implications.
North Dakota vs. Cornell
Denver vs. Yale
Rensselaer vs. Miami
The ECAC is 20-15-2 in non-conference games this season. However, most of those wins have been against the AHA (13-2-2). The ECAC is 3-12 against the Big Ten and Hockey East, and they’ll face the NCHC for the first time this weekend.
Why is this important?
The Pairwise. Whether it’s winning individual head-to-head matchups or winning the comparison on common opponents, those series are substantial for the ECAC this weekend because of who they play.
