Weekend Preview: Games of the Week, Friday night picks, CHL reaction (#489)

Arizona State will begin its journey in the NCHC this weekend when the Sun Devils hit the road to face Colorado College in one of the premiere national matchups of the weekend. Out East, Maine and Boston College have been two of the hottest teams in Hockey East to start the year, and the Black Bears will visit the Eagles this weekend for a pair of games.

Also in today’s issue (#499):

• I have some Friday picks, including picks for ASU-CC and Minnesota State-St. Thomas.

• Unpacking a lot of the reaction from yesterday’s vote that made CHL players eligible starting next season, including statements from the OHL, WHL, and QMJHL.

• An OHL goalie has already announced his commitment (to Clarkson). I’m guessing he’s the first of many players to officially announce commitments next week.
