ST. PAUL, Minn. — Boston College and Denver will play for the national championship on Saturday night at the Xcel Center.

The Eagles (4-0 win over Michigan) and Pioneers (2-1 overtime win over BU) punched their tickets to the final on Thursday night in the national semifinals.

Denver will be back in the championship game for the third time since 2017. Denver won the national title in 2017 and 2022. The Pioneers haven’t lost a national championship game since 1964.

BC returns to the national championship game for the first time since 2012, when Johnny Gaudreau scored a legendary goal late in the third period to help secure BC a win over Ferris State.
