Whenever I think I’m done covering potential sweeping changes to NCAA rules and legislation, something new happens.

The NCAA is considering granting all student-athletes five years of eligibility. I explore why this change is being discussed and its potential impact on college hockey.

Also in this issue (#510):

  • College hockey’s independent programs are discussing the possibility of a postseason tournament. Nothing is finalized, and it’s still in the early stages, but a potential tournament has been discussed.

  • Former Michigan defenseman Tim Lovell signed with Jukurit in Finland.

  • Have other college sports found their junior hockey system?
