College hockey coaches and power brokers met late last week in Bonita Springs, Florida, for the annual American Hockey Coaches Association convention.

Several key topics were discussed, and today’s newsletter is packed with details, including:

— Extensive discussion on how the NCAA’s age-based eligibility proposal will impact the sport, including a meeting with the NCAA’s chief legal officer on the issue.

— The NCAA’s new tampering proposal.

— The future of roster construction in the era of roster caps and age-based eligibility.

— Potential rule changes under consideration, along with a timeline for implementation this offseason.

— Continued debate surrounding NCAA regionals, including another push for home sites, a radical proposal for implementing them, tournament expansion, and the possibility of teams bidding to host.

— Expanding the regular-season schedule and recruiting calendar.

Also in today’s issue:

  • Is Landon Dupont playing college hockey next season? And is Michigan the frontrunner?

  • A bunch of coaching news on former NCAA head coaches losing pro jobs, assistant openings/hirings, and more.

  • UNH athletic Alison Rich is out at the end of the year.

  • The USHL signed Glenn Hefferan to an extension.

  • How much does the NCHC make off of NCHC.tv?

This is issue #675 of the College Hockey Insider newsletter.
