It was a night that refused to end on time across college hockey. Nine games required overtime to decide matters, headlined by Michigan’s extra-session victory over Michigan State in a No. 1 vs. No. 2 showdown in the NPI.

The overtime ledger was crowded elsewhere as well. Air Force, Boston University, Miami, Minnesota Duluth, Wisconsin, St. Thomas, and Michigan Tech all emerged with bonus hockey victories.

Here’s a complete recap of Friday’s action, with scores and notes from every game on the docket.

Big Ten

Michigan 4, Michigan State 3 (OT): Michigan State carried a 3–1 lead into the third period, but the Wolverines methodically reeled the game back in front of a raucous crowd at Yost. Asher Barnett and Kienan Draper scored just over two minutes apart to pull Michigan even, with Draper’s tally coming shorthanded. In overtime, Jayde Perron converted on the power play with Eric Nilson in the box for tripping, sealing a come-from-behind victory for the Wolverines.

Ohio State 6, Minnesota 2: Ohio State controlled the night from the opening faceoff, dictating play and piling up shots in a lopsided affair. The Buckeyes outshot the Gophers 46–21 overall and owned a commanding 33–11 edge through two periods, leaving little doubt about the outcome.

Wisconsin 6, Notre Dame 5 (OT): Wisconsin watched a two-goal third-period lead slip away as Evan Werner scored twice for Notre Dame, including the extra-attacker equalizer with 1:09 remaining in regulation. But Quinn Finley ensured the Badgers would have the final say, scoring in overtime to snap a six-game losing streak.

Minnesota Duluth 3, North Dakota 2 (OT): No Adam Gajan? No problem. With their regular starter away at the Olympics, Ethan Dahlmeir stepped in and made 22 saves for the Bulldogs. Zam Plante provided the offense, scoring twice, including the overtime winner, to push Minnesota Duluth through extra time.
