Friday Recap: Michigan beats Penn State in one of eight games that went to a shootout
Plus: Merrimack came back to beat BC, BU fell again, Denver, UND and Western win in the NCHC, Bowling Green picks up key CCHA victory
In the marquee game of the night, Michigan outlasted Penn State in a shootout.
Elsewhere, Merrimack rallied past Boston College, while Boston University continued to slide with another loss at New Hampshire. In the NCHC, North Dakota blanked Miami and Denver handled Omaha.
Bowling Green picked up a statement win in the CCHA against Augustana. The ECAC featured three games decided in shootouts, while Sacred Heart closed the door on Bentley in Atlantic Hockey.

Big Ten
Michigan 4, Penn State 4 (OT): Michael Hage scored the lone goal in the shootout to earn Michigan the extra Big Ten point in a game that swung repeatedly. Jackson Smith tied it with 3:14 remaining on a power play. Hage finished with three assists, while T.J. Hughes scored twice. Smith had two goals for Penn State.
Wisconsin 4, Ohio State 2: Gavin Morrissey scored twice to lead Wisconsin. Davis Burnside provided both goals for Ohio State. Badgers goaltender Daniel Hauser exited with an injury in the second period.
Minnesota 2, Notre Dame 2 (OT): Javon Moore and Brodie Ziemer scored in the shootout for the Gophers. Ziemer also found the net in the first period — his 20th goal of the season — and Moore added two assists.
Hockey East
Merrimack 4, Boston College 2: The Warriors shook off an early two-goal deficit and responded with four unanswered to turn the night. Caelan Fitzpatrick powered the comeback with a three-point performance (one goal, two assists). Dean Letourneau and James Hagens scored for Boston College.
