Merrimack 5, New Hampshire 1: The Warriors rode a breakout performance from freshman Parker Lalonde, who recorded a hat trick and now has four goals in his first three collegiate games. Trevor Hoskin added three assists.
Atlantic Hockey
Holy Cross 4, Mercyhurst 0: The Crusaders controlled play from start to finish, outshooting the Lakers 37–15. Connor Welsh led the charge with two goals as Holy Cross picked up its first win of the season (1–3) after running a tough early schedule that included trips to Maine and Northeastern.
Non-Conference
Michigan State 4, Boston University 3 (OT): A wild finish in Boston. It looked as if Cole Eiserman was going to end it for BU in overtime — the Terriers had forced the extra frame with two late third-period goals — but Shane Vansaghi cleared a puck off the goal line to keep the Spartans alive. Moments later, Ryker Lee set up Matt Basgall on the counterattack for the game-winner. An absolutely electric ending.
Minnesota 5, North Dakota 1: The Gophers bounced back in emphatic fashion, scoring four third-period goals to beat UND. Brody Lamb led the charge with a three-point night (1g, 2a).
Ohio State 4, Connecticut 2: The Buckeyes earned a weekend split after UConn took Friday’s opener. Riley Thompson netted his second goal of the weekend, and goaltender Kristoffer Eberly was sharp with 34 saves.
Quinnipiac 4, Maine 0: Quinnipiac dominated from start to finish, outshooting Maine 33–19. The Bobcats went 3-for-8 on the power play, and Matej Marinov posted the shutout.
Western Michigan 6, UMass Lowell 0: The Broncos completed a weekend sweep in commanding fashion, outshooting the River Hawks 43–19. Grant Slukynsky and Joona Vaisanen each recorded three points, while Ty Henricks and William Whitelaw both scored twice.
Providence 5, RPI 1: Two goals from Will Elger powered the Friars to a convincing road win. Providence went 2-for-3 on the power play, while Thomas Klassek scored the lone goal for RPI.
Colorado College 5, Northern Michigan 2: The Tigers kept rolling, improving to 5–1 with a weekend sweep of the Wildcats (now 0–6). Kaidan Mbereko stopped 28 shots to anchor the win.
Penn State 3, Long Island 0: It wasn’t easy, but the Nittany Lions closed out the sweep of LIU in a penalty-filled contest that featured 13 power plays. JJ Wiebusch scored his seventh goal in six games, and Joshua Fleming made 28 saves for the shutout.
Augustana 5, Arizona State 2: A statement weekend for the Vikings, who completed a sweep of the Sun Devils while outshooting ASU 30–21. Cruz Lucius had both goals for Arizona State.
Minnesota Duluth 5, Bemidji State 1: The Bulldogs improved to 5–1 behind another strong showing from Jayson Shaugabay, who scored twice on Saturday. UMD’s power play clicked at 4-for-7 in a dominant special-teams effort.
St. Cloud State 4, Vermont 0: Yan Shostak stopped all 21 shots he faced for the shutout as the Huskies struck four times on the power play (4-for-5). Austin Burnevik added two goals in a game that was never in doubt.
Stonehill 3, Sacred Heart 2: The Skyhawks notched their first win of the season behind goals from Joseph Grainda, Brady Hunter, and Frank Ireland — each their first of the year. Stonehill also killed six of seven penalties to secure the victory.
Colgate 5, Canisius 3: Colgate salvaged a weekend split with Canisius, outshooting the Griffins 41–20. Jack Brandt paced the Raiders’ offense with a goal and two assists, while Walter Zacher scored twice for Canisius.
RIT 6, Clarkson 2: Matt Thomas earned his first win behind the RIT bench as the Tigers rolled past Clarkson. Simon Isabelle (1g, 2a) and Christian Catalano (0g, 2a) each had multi-point nights, and goaltender Jakub Krbecek turned aside 28 shots.
Alaska 5, Michigan Tech 1: Michael Citara scored his fourth goal of the season for Alaska, now just two shy of his career high. The Nanooks outshot Michigan Tech 35–28.
UMass 5, Bentley 4 (OT): Larry Keenan tied the game midway through the third period with his first goal of the season, and Francesco Dell’Elce buried the overtime winner to lift the Minutemen. Stephen Castagna scored twice in a strong effort for Bentley.
Denver 4, Lindenwood 0: Denver rebounded emphatically after being upset on Friday night, outshooting Lindenwood 49–19. Sam Harris (1g, 1a) and Hagen Burrows (2a) led the way offensively, while the Pioneers buttoned things up defensively.
Union 6, Niagara 0: Union stayed unbeaten at 4-0-1 with a dominant performance, including 55 shots on goal (SOG were 55-24). Parker Lindauer recorded four points (1g, 3a), and Ben Muthersbaugh added three (2g, 1a) along with 10 shots on goal.
Air Force 6, St. Thomas 2: The Falcons responded impressively after Friday’s lopsided defeat (11-2), getting two goals from Will Dawson and three assists from Sam Stitz in a bounce-back win.
