Here’s a full rundown of Friday night’s action across college hockey:
ECAC
Princeton 7, St. Lawrence 4: Kal Daniells scored five goals for Princeton, becoming the first NCAA player to hit that mark since Mike Connolly did it for UMD in 2011. Before that, Brian Flynn scored five for Maine in 2010, and Stéphane Da Costa had five for Merrimack in 2009.
Quinnipiac 4, Clarkson 1: Chris Pelosi recorded a hat trick for the Bobcats, including a shorthanded empty-netter in the final minute. Pelosi now has nine goals on the year.
Brown 4, Yale 2: The Bears erupted for three goals in the third period. Matthew Cataldo scored twice in the final frame, including a shorthanded strike that put Brown ahead at the 5:43 mark.
Colgate 2, RPI 1: The Raiders took a defensive battle in Hamilton. Reid Dyck made 27 saves for Colgate, while Nate Krawchuk stopped 28 shots for RPI.
Cornell 2, Union 1: The teams traded power-play goals in the first period before Charlie Major’s second-period tally stood as the winner.
Hockey East
UConn 4, New Hampshire 1: The Wildcats generated 37 shots, but Tyler Muszelik turned aside 36 of them.
Northeastern 3, Boston University 2: The Huskies were without starter Lawton Zacher, but Quentin Sigurdson stepped in and stopped 32 shots to backstop a win over BU.
Boston College 7, Maine 3: The Eagles poured in four goals in the third period. Teddy Stiga (1g, 2a) and Ryan Conmy (2g, 1a) each had three points. James Hagens added two goals, and Louka Cloutier made 35 saves.
NCHC
Minnesota Duluth 4, Colorado College 2: Max Plante scored three straight goals between the second and third periods to lead the Bulldogs. They’re now 12–3 on the season, and Plante is up to 13 goals.
Western Michigan 7, Omaha 2: Another tough night for the Mavericks defensively, giving up 43 shots and seven goals. Zaccharaya Wisdom and Ty Henricks each scored twice.
Denver 7, Arizona State 1: Samu Salminen’s four points (1g, 3a) set the pace for the Pioneers. Eric Pohlkamp posted a big night on the blue line with two goals and an assist.
Miami 6, St. Cloud State 5 (OT): Four goals were scored in under three minutes during a chaotic third period. Miami struck at 14:10 and 14:29 to jump ahead by two, but the Huskies rallied at 15:28 and 16:58 to force overtime. Matteo Giampa ended it for the RedHawks.
Big Ten
Michigan 5, Ohio State 2: The Wolverines fired 45 shots and broke it open with three goals in the third period. T.J. Hughes had three points (1g, 2a), and Kristoffer Eberly made 40 saves for the Buckeyes.
Minnesota 3, Penn State 2: The Gophers scored three straight in the second period. Reese Laudbach scored both Penn State goals. A post-game scrum resulted in 52 penalty minutes at the 20-minute mark of the third.
Wisconsin 5, Michigan State 4: The Badgers handed Michigan State its first loss since opening night. MSU led 2–0 before Wisconsin scored four times in the second period. Porter Martone had a three-point night (2g, 1a) for the Spartans.
Atlantic Hockey
Canisius 4, Mercyhurst 3: Canisius built a 4–0 lead midway through the second. The Lakers pushed late and outshot the Griffins 36–22 but dropped their 12th game of the season.
Air Force 6, Army 3: Defenseman Chris Hedden posted three points (1g, 2a) for the Falcons. All nine goals were scored over the final two periods.
Bentley 3, RIT 2: The Falcons bounced back from last weekend’s loss to Alaska Anchorage. Bentley is 7-1-1 in its last nine games.
CCHA
Minnesota State 3, Michigan Tech 0: The Mavericks held the Huskies to just 12 shots. Jack Smith, Reid Morich, and Alex Zetterberg supplied the offense.
Bowling Green 3, St. Thomas 2 (OT): Jacob Steinman made 36 saves for the Falcons. Ben Doran delivered the overtime winner after Alex Gaffney tied it for the Tommies with four seconds left in regulation.
Lake Superior 2, Ferris State 1: Samuel Belanger and Calem Mangone scored for the Lakers. Carter Rapalje scored late for Ferris and led all players with eight shots.
Bemidji State 7, Northern Michigan 3: The Beavers responded in a big way, holding the Wildcats to just 15 shots. Connor McClennon scored four times for Bemidji State.
Non-Conference
Lindenwood 6, Robert Morris 2: The Lions moved back above .500. Charles Savoie (1g, 2a) and Giovanni Morneau (3a) finished with three points each.
Merrimack 6, Long Island 2: Nick Pierre scored twice as the Warriors avenged an October loss to the Sharks. Caden Cranston added two points (1g, 1a), and Austin Oravetz scored his first collegiate goal.
