College hockey heads to Naples, Fla., this week for the annual American Hockey Coaches Association convention, and several prominent topics are up for discussion, including:
1) The potential eligibility of CHL players.
2) The transfer portal and NIL
3) Potential rule changes (it’s a rule change year)
— Power plays when scoring on a delayed penalty
— Video access to coaches on the bench
— Changes to video review
— Continuation of play rules
4) The potential changes to the NCAA Tournament format.
— Are on-campus regionals better? I have my own thoughts.
Plus, we have a notebook on Ben Syer being introduced at Princeton, including a quote from Cornell coach Mike Schafer. We also update our portal tracker and have news on the name for the Atlantic Hockey/College Hockey America merger.
5) Potential realignment? Will Atlantic Hockey expand?
