(#295) Bentley candidates, transfer portal updates

Bentley will have to replace Ryan Soderquist, who stepped down earlier this week as head coach of the men’s hockey program. Bentley’s candidate list could be specific. I’ll explain, and have a list of nine realistic candidates for the Falcons.

Also in this issue …

• A transfer portal update, including a link to our new and improved portal spreadsheet. Also, some schools are suspecting others of tampering with players using the portal.

• The NCHC will likely vote on Arizona State this offseason. There has been a lot of talk about Arizona State possibily joining the NCHC at the AHCA Convention this week in Naples.

• Several coaching staff updates. Arizona State is in the process of hiring a new assistant coach, plus another job opening up.

• Could Major Junior players one day be eligible under NCAA rules? It’s not happening soon, but some coaches believe it could be on the table.

• A newswire on rink changes at Northern Michigan, arena updates at Maine, Adam Fantilli playing in the World Championships, and a former Providence coach was let go in the AHL.
