(#263) Baker Takes Over; AHA and B10 Quarterfinal Previews/Picks

www.collegehockeyinsider.com

The top story in today’s issue is a look at Charlie Baker, who took over as president of the NCAA today. Baker gave a series of interviews today, but I want to focus on details he shared with Sportico, particularly his thoughts on employee designation for college athletes. It’s an interesting look into what could be Baker’s strategy moving forward, and it’s a stark contrast to his predecessor, Mark Emmert.

Also in this issue …

  • The Atlantic Hockey quarterfinals are set for this weekend. I briefly preview each series and give a pick. The AHA series were extremely tough to pick.

  • The Big Ten Tournament also gets underway with the quarterfinal series this weekend. I preview each series (Minnesota has a bye) and provide picks.

  • There are four new commitments to report on the recruiting trail, with two players headed to Princeton and one to RIT and Stonehill.
