(#193) Wiseman not joining Islanders; assistant updates
In today’s issue (#193), eyebrows were raised on Thursday night when it was announced by the New York Islanders that Brian Wiseman was not being brought on as an assistant coach (he was announced as a new hire earlier this month). Wiseman is a Michigan alum - a former captain and assistant coach - and was considered a top name to potentially replace Mel Pearson if the school released him due to the ongoing investigation into the program’s culture. The findings of that investigation will reportedly be released soon.
In other news, Minnesota Duluth will have an open spot on its staff. LIU has a new assistant coach and so does AIC. Colorado College has a spot to fill. Erik Largen inked a new deal at Alaska. A sad story out of UMass regarding Garrett Wait. And, we preview some of the big names who might commit next week when recruiting opens for players entering their junior year on Monday.
