There’s never been a better moment for college hockey to operate with a unified voice.

Back in May, at the annual AHCA convention in Florida, NCAA president Charlie Baker briefed coaches and athletic directors on a host of issues, including a potential move toward giving certain sports — college hockey among them — more autonomy in how they govern themselves.

If that becomes reality, the need for unity among the leagues only grows stronger.

With that in mind, this issue has my column on 10 things I’d push to accomplish if I were the fictional "Commissioner of College Hockey."

Also in this issue (#578):

  • Notes on Roger McQueen’s commitment to Providence, including details on the range of his rev-share package. Plus, insight into what led defenseman Sean Barnhill to flip to Michigan State.

  • Jersey patch sponsorships could be on the horizon in college athletics.

  • Cole Spicer is no longer headed to Arizona State.

  • A flurry of assistant coaching moves this week at Holy Cross, St. Thomas, Alaska, Merrimack, and Stonehill.

  • The Adirondack Winter Invitational is set to return to Lake Placid this November.
